Weds, Thurs, & Fri suppers

Wednesday got too crazy so I just hurried and made pizza with the cheap bread I got at HEB this week. It wasn't fancy but we all liked it! =)

Thursday we had beef tacos and green beans. Don't mind the picture, it sorta fell apart when I went to move it for a picture! =)

Tonight I was going to make a good supper but Jonathan had to work late didn't get home for supper (on his 29th birthday no less) so we'll just have that tomorrow. The kids & I ate grilled cheese sandwiches & yougert.

Our shopping trip

I forgot to take a picture of my first shopping trip this week to HEB. Korey was my buddy for this trip! I couldn't have ask for a better behaving little man! For once HEB had some good sales but I forgot my list and they were out of fliers and since it was the last day of the sale I missed a few good things.

My total here was $24.96

Gallon milk $3.64

Huggies wipes refill $4.99

flour tortillas .99

hamburger buns .99

small elbow macaroni (4) 1.00

5 lbs potatoes 1.99

2 lbs white seedless grapes 1.99

10 small oranges 1.00

shreaded lettuce 1.39

4 packages hotdogs 2.00

2 white bread 1.00

adobo seasonings 1.62

sazon y tomate 1.29

Then my target trip was really good!

1st transaction:

3 boxes Kashi cereal bars $2.25

2 ocean spray (free)

8 6oz cups yoplait yougert $1.72

I paid $3.95 for all that!

2nd transaction:

box of size 3 pampers on clearance $14.01 (80 count)

pampers wipes $.99

clean & go pampers wipes $1.49

3 boxes Kashi cereal bars $2.25

2 ocean spray (free)

I paid $19.92

It was just a little over the $40 I try to stick to, but I couldn't let those pampers stay there!! I'm trying to stock up on sizes I'll need while we are gone. The wipes were also on sale & with the coupons I had were very cheap! So, now we are stocked up on those for a few weeks anyway! The HEB trip, along with stuff I had in my cupboards will be enough to make our menu for the week. (which is almost over by the way...did your week go FAST?? Mine sure did!)

Puppies

If you've been around Korey very long, you know he's very much in love with ALL puppies! (puppies to him includes all dogs, sometimes even cats.) Our neighbours dog had a litter of golden retriever puppies and Jonathan brought one over for the kids to see the other night. I wish I'd have taken a picture of Kamryn's face. She looked at it and started crying! Last night we also played with a puppy. Poor thing, was pulled by the leg, picked up by little people and still was a great behaving puppy! We joked the owners could now advertise them totally kid tested!

Church in Mexico

A great Sunday School lesson by Bro. Eli

A few weeks ago we were priviledged to 'show' the Masons the way to the Bible Methodist Church in Rio Bravo, Tamp. Mexico. We got there 30 minutes early but it was a good thing since we'd taken a little 'scenic route'. In my husbands defense I must say that he hadn't been there in about 2 years so a few wrong turns was ok! =) We found it (we were in the right area the whole time) and enjoyed the service and fellowship with the people. My very shy son even found enough courage to hang out with some of the kids!

Tuesdays supper

The meal, I added sour cream to the top after I took this picture and also we had carrots for a veggie.
The beans cooking

Well, this meal didn't turn out quit how I had it planned, but I think I will make this again! I had the beans all cooked, the fried diced onions & peppers, added the beans with some seasonings and let it cook together. Then I put it in a bowl on the counter. The rice was cooking and in the mean time I thought I would feed Kamryn her supper...I took her food from the microwave and accidently knocked over the beans! There was just a little bit left, so that's why it doesn't look like very many on the plate! Oh well - after Jonathan told me he was so sorry for me because I worked so hard on them (You have to cook beans for hours so I spent most of the afternoon 'watching' them), I just laughed. I told him to remember that I really dislike beans, I was just being 'brave' and cheap! They did have a good flavor though so I'll be making this again so we can try it better!

Menu for this week

I'm doing some a little different with our menu this week. We are having a Mexican meal every night! I sorta did this last week and we really enjoyed it, plus its cheap to make and its good!

So, I also need some inspiration to get back on track with cheap shopping and so I'm gonna post this menu and my shopping trip this week get me back in gear and excited about this!! I don't shop 'cheap' because I HAVE to, I enjoy it and its so fun to walk of a store with tons of stuff for just a little bit of money. If I have time I'll try to post some pictures of our suppers every night and roughly what it costs.

Monday (last night) we had Chicken Fajitas and Mexican Rice
Tuesday ~ Beans & Rice topped w/ cheese and sour cream
Wednesday ~ Beef Tacos & veggies
Thursday ~ Chicken Enchiladas & salad
Friday ~ Potato & Egg tacos
Saturday ~ Flautas & beans
Sunday ~ Chicken burritos & Mexican Rice

Things they say & do

I've heard & seen some funny little things lately around here and I thought I'd better blog them before I forget them! =)

~ A few nights ago I finished giving Kylie a bath and brought her to the Living Room, her hair was still 'wild', Jonathan was sitting on the couch and I said, Looking Daddy at my pretty girl! Korey was in his high chair and said, "WOOHOO Ky-ee!!"

~ When asked if she wanted to talk to Aunt Becka on the phone this morning, Kylie replied, "No, I'm busy."

~ Just a few minutes ago, I was going to give them a snack of chips. I gave Korey his and then was getting ready to give Kylie some, she said, "No, Thank you." I said, you don't want any chips, and again she said, "No thank you." When she is really happy with something she now says, Thank you very much!

~ This is one of the most exciting things that's happened at our house!!! Korey has been going on the potty!!! I've been busy running here & there but when I get a chance I put him on and he usually goes! Kylie on the other hand is very distressed by this, but she won't go.

~ Kamryn is now sitting up & crawling! Watch out world...3 Springer kids on the loose!

I have some new pictures to upload soon, but I've been very busy just keeping up with life here the past week or so and havn't had much time to blog. I've been trying to work though some Spanish lessons, get a newsletter done, work on our First Aid book, think ahead to what I need to pack for our deputation trip, not to mention the endless piles of laundry & dishes! I love being busy though, it makes life more interesting! I thank God for my family every day, and that I am that busy!

Family Photo Shoot

This past Friday, we finally were able to get our family photo shoot done! We had an enjoyable time with our friends Ron & Esther Junod, who took the pictures for us, had lots of laughs, and enjoyed a great lunch together also! Here are my favorites out of the 220 they took. The goal was a good family one for our prayer cards, since Kamryn has joined our family since the last one I did. There is a few more I really like but I'll do those in another post! I'm sure my family has been wanting to see some new pictures...I'm sorry, I feel very behind on blogging lately. The past few weeks have been so busy and the future is looking just as busy but I'll find some time soon to get this caught up!

Pictures ~ 2009

This morning I took the kids to a new studio in town. Portrait Innovations is a great place. Check to see if there's one in your area. It is a relaxed atmosphere and I enjoyed the experience as well. The have really comfortable couches in the waiting area, play tables for the kids. I had 64 pictures to choose from! The photographer said on small children he usually takes about 100 or more...but they were getting really tired and it just wasn't worth it anymore. I thought I picked a good time but Korey was ready for a nap! =) It look a lot of effort to get his thumb out, then when we were getting him to cooperate, Kylie decided she needed her thumb! Oh well, maybe by next year they'll do better!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day was a fun one! We relaxed a little in the morning, then opened presents, cleaned up the mess =) then had a pancake brunch! The kids played for awhile, took naps, then in the afternoon we went to fly Jonathan's plane since it was a really pretty day. Later that night I made chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, & biscuits for supper. We recieved money from our families this year, so I used that to buy the kids a few things to open but most of it went for things they needed like clothes & shoes. They still have some left which is going to go for that kind of stuff whenever they need it again. Which won't be long since they are growing so fast! A a big gift they got was sorta a combined gift from all grandparents! Grandma Lynn gave us the key to Sarah's old playhouse, so I cleaned it a few weeks ago, and with their money from my parents they got a Kitchen set and a table & chairs. We finally got the kitchen set put together New Years Day night, but they were sleeping, so havn't seen it yet. I was wanting to take them to play today but its 50's all day, so that'll have to wait! =(Kylie took her baby (not new) and its seat (new) to bed with her that afternoon. She's thrilled with this gift! She's also getting a stroller for her baby, but Walmart was out of it when I went to get it Christmas Eve, and they still don't have any. So, whenever I find one, she'll get it!Kamryn's favorite part of Christmas was playing with the paper!Korey's tool set
