Pictures & News

I'm finally getting to post a few of these misc pictures that I have of the kids. =) Not too much else exciting to blog about here lately...just eating, sleeping, and doing all the chores and getting ready for the new 'little missy' to show up! Hopefully she waits til her grandma gets here on the 10th of July! I guess I could tell you a few funny things Kylie's been saying lately...she's getting very talkative!
  • We've been working on teaching her some songs: This little light of mine, Deep & Wide, and Christo me Ama (Jesus Loves Me in Spanish) She's been doing pretty good with them. The other day I heard her singing "Christo Mamma" all on her own!
  • She was watching me pour the cake batter for Korey's birthday cake into the pan, and her comment was "Impressive!" (Thanks 'Nemy' for teaching her that word!)
  • Last night I made a batch of no-bakes, and this morning I was sitting at the computer and she brought me a cookie (she'd been asking to eat one all morning), She said "here mommy, cookie". I said, Oh thank you Kylie! Then she left and came back with a bite in her mouth!! I guess she thought if she made me eat one that it was going to be ok for her to eat one!

Korey's vocabulary is very limited: Dada, ticka (tickle), and today I think he said 'eat'!! (a very good word for him to learn since that's all he wants to do!) He's just about ready to go solo on walking. Probably just a few more weeks! He's been just barely holding on and trying to let go of stuff, but then he falls. I think we've seen him take a step here and there the past few days! As of last week, Kylie weighs 24.5 pounds and Korey weighs 21.5 pounds! =)

They love to watch the fish

As you can tell, Korey is not to happy with this photo shoot!

Giving Korey a ride on her bike. He did a great job staying on and he loved it!

Now its Korey's turn to 'push' Kylie (with daddy's help of course!)

More presents!

It seems we've drug the birthday celebrations out for days, but its been fun!! Thursday they got a box from Grandma Lynn and had a great time opening it! Inside was a winnie the pooh book with a CD, a talking teddy bear that says 4 bedtime prayers, and a toy dog that 'walks'! I have to admit that was the biggest hit!! Kylie would walk the dog around the kitchen, saying, "Come on puppy, walk" and Korey was crawling behind them as fast he he could!!! Then Friday, we let them open their presents from Pappy & Munga. Korey got a truck and some bath toys and Kylie got a baby doll (its all plastic so she can give it a bath! This is something she's been wanting to do with her babies for awhile!) and a recorder!

Checkin' to see what's in there!! This was the most interested he was in the presents, he liked them afterwards but could have cared less about opening them. (Excuse his lack of a shirt, please, its been over 100 degrees everyday and the AC's don't always keep our house the coolest!)

Saturday, they cards some cards in the mail with money in them. Kylie was THRILLED! She opened it and it fell out and she said, "ew, money! dollars!!" Korey opened his and threw them 1 at a time on the floor!! Then yesterday, they got a card w/out money (which is great too!) and I let Kylie open hers, and opened it all the way carefully. It was obvious she was looking for more dollars!! I had some other junk mail there too, and she wanted to open those, she told me 'presents!'.

Happy 2nd birthday, Kylie!

(I can't get an infant picture of her right now, b/c my network is down and the tech is taking a nap since he worked at 3:30AM this morning! But I'll add it later!)

Kylie,
Its so hard to believe you are 2 already! The years just flew by! You are very outgoing like your daddy and act so much like Aunt Sarah! We love you hear you pray and sing and hope you will always use those talents for Jesus! You are the best oldest daughter we have!!

Love,
Daddy & Mommy

My two 1 year olds!

For 1 day of the year Kylie and Korey are the same age!!
Today, they are both 1!!
By the way, Kylie did have her hair combed today, but they just came inside from playing when I took this picture!! It seems all pictures of her lately her hair is always messy, so I wanted to make sure you all knew that!! LOL

Korey's birthday!

What a crazy day! I wasn't sure how we were going to fit everything in today, but we did!!! I'm not ready to do this tomorrow again, so I think we are going to wait til the weekend to have Kylie's cake! Jonathan had to work this morning and I had a chiropractor appointment this afternoon, which was great! I don't notice a huge difference now but I'm looking forward to the lasting results! He really can't adjust all my back because of the baby but I'm really looking forward to some good adjustments afterwards! When I got home I started to make supper and Korey's cake! I was going to buy him one but then decided that there are better things to spend $10-$15 on than a cake he was going to destroy and not really even know what it looked like, so I tried my hand at making and decorating one. It didn't turn out the greatest but as you can see by these next few pictures, he enjoyed it!! And I made a plain round one for the rest of us to eat! Its late so I decided to leave the real mess to clean up tomorrow! I have some other birthday related things but I think they'll have to wait until tomorrow! I'm getting too tired!! =)My sad art work ~ its supposed to be a baseball in case you can't tell!! =)
His 1st look at the cake! (He was ready to dig in!!)He started by only putting his thumb in and licking the icing from his thumb!

The end result! This was right before we took it from him! He was only using one hand (the one not in the air) so Jonathan helped him get this hand in it too!! Then he was getting upset because he was too messy!!

Happy 1st Birthday, Korey!!

Korey,
We love you very much, and thank God for sending you to us! You make life so fun and exciting! Even though you are quiet a lot of times, I know in that little brain you have lots of mischief just waiting to happen! You are the perfect 'middle' child for this family! And I know you'll do a great job keeping the girls in line later!

We love you,

Daddy & Mommy

Outside fun!

Last evening I took the kids outside to play for a little while after it cooled down and before the bugs came to eat us up!! =) They had fun. Kylie's getting better at riding her bike. She can pedal it backwards but not forwards yet. They both love playing and talking with the dogs too. Korey was happy just hangin' out in the laundry basket watching everything!! If you've not figured this out - it doesn't take much to make him a happy boy!

Another box!

We received another box from Manga (what Kylie calls my mom) yesterday! It had some fun stuff they could open now and the rest has to wait until their birthdays (sadly in 9 & 10 days ~ my babies are growing up - anyway, I'll get off that before I get too emotional! LOL) Excuse Kylie's messed up hair! We had lots of interuptions this morning and didn't get to that yet! Waiting until mommy opened the box! Kylie kept saying "open box!"

She was thrilled to see inside! At this point it was just packing material! LOL

Korey was happy with his fire truck! He really could have cared less about it all but he did like the truck! That's the important things in life though, right!!

Our weekly menu

I've seen a lot of people posting their menus for the week, so I decided to try it. I might mix these up a little, depending on how that day goes! =)

Sunday ~ homemade pizza
Monday ~ Jonathan took us to Golden Corral!!
Tuesday ~ Dinner in a pinch (this is a new receipe I found but we like it, its ground beef, potatoes, green beans and tomatoes all mixed together! Very easy and a good healthy meal!)
Wednesday ~ Pancakes, Eggs, tortillas
Thursday ~ Potato Soup
Friday ~ Parmasan chicken & chessy rice & veggies
Saturday ~ BLT sandwiches (providing we can find fresh tomatoes!!)

Weekend news

We really had an uneventful weekend for once! =) It was great!! Friday night my wonderful husband, who just got off work from a 16 hour shift, met me at Walgreens to help me get all this stuff for right at $20! (He won too, since he got a new pair of sunglasses he needed for $15!) So, basically the rest of this was $5!!! The cashier was overly impressed. =) Sunday night after church, Jonathan & I made fruit smoothies! This is the end result. If I remember this is what we put in them: Bananas, Mangos, grapes, strawberries, milk and strawberry yogurt! They were so good!!! Both kids really enjoyed them too!!! They are turning into quite the fruit eaters lately...on Saturday they just about ate a whole cantaloupe by themselves! =) And Kylie's other favorite thing to eat now is tomatoes! She calls them 'maa-no'!
