Korey

"Hi everyone!"

Korey was 4 months on the 19th of October. With everything else going on I forgot to mention it. I didn't get any 4 month studio pictures since I got the good one of him in the leaves. I took him to the doctors last Tuesday for his 4 month check-up. He weighed 14 pounds and was 26 inches long. He's finally getting a little more alert! :-) He's so laid back, we get excited when he makes a fuss!! He smiles a lot now, especially for Kylie. :-) I have about 3-4 more pictures of him to put on here but Blogger is not letting me right now. I'll try to finish it later today!

A day at the park

Last week, a friend of mine & I took our kids to the park for lunch & play! It was fun! The weather has been a lot cooler lately. I hate it, but there's only one good thing aobut it, you can spend time outside during the afternoon & its nice. But mornings & nights are cold!! Kylie had a blast on the slide & swings. Korey just chilled in his stroller!!Ready to go outside!!!

Our box

The box

The week we were in NC, a box arrived from my parents! Here are some pictures of Kylie opening her presents. :-) (Hers were the only ones wrapped) She had a fun time. Her favorite things were the plastic spoon & fork. And the 'puffs'! She wanted them opened right away & started eating them!! I got a few birthday presents, Jonathan got a miniature horse-shoe set & Korey got some clothes!Opening her presentsThe much loved spoon & forkKylie with her puffs, fun plates, skirts & shoes!Korey's clothes!

Playin' in the leaves!

Meeting their Great Grandma's

Great-grandma Mooney

Great-grandma Springer

Back home

Good morning. We made it back home safely. It was a good trip, all things considered. We left Monday night around 10:00 PM and drove straight though to NC. It took about 28 hours, that included stops. We stayed with Jonathan's uncle Blaine & aunt Karen. They have a beautiful home in the country. It was so quite there. I wish I had more time to just sit outside & enjoy it.

The funneral was really nice. Sarah wrote a poem about Grandpa & read it. I can't find it right now but I will include in on here when I do. Oh, by the way - she has really grown up! Its been 16 months since we saw her, and wow!!! She is a real sweet girl & we had lots of fun together (more on that later). Grandpa's obituary is online if anyone wants to read it. Joe & Wesley also came from Ohio. The 4 kids have not been all together since Feb. 06, so that called for lots of pics!! The whole Springer family

No time...

but, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who is praying for us, we are leaving either tonight or tomorrow morning. Jonathan has a few things to do to the truck, so we'll see how tired we are. Please keep praying for us. Its gonna be a long, hard week.

Jonathan's grandpa Springer went to heaven this morning around 7:30. We are sure there is great rejoicing there as he was reunited with his son (Jonathan's dad) and grandson (Jonathan's brother who was born pre-mature)! I know that is small compared to fianlly meeting Jesus face to face!

The only details we know right now is that the viewing is on Wednesday night & the funeral is Thursday afternoon at 2:00PM. We are trying to figure out all the details of if & when we can get up there. We'll know more tomorrow after Jonathan talks with his boss at work. He would only be missing 1 extra day because we were already planning to go into Mexico again this weekend. Pray that God will give us the wisdom that we need to make the right decisions.

If anyone cares ...

...I hate mice!! These mice just love my house...but they are soon to be gone again! (If you don't know the other mice story, go back to April archives & read about it) We were sitting in the living room tonight hangin out with Jeremy, when Jonathan got up REALLY slow and went back the hall, turning lights on as he went...I was like, you saw a mouse didn't you...of course he acted all cool, like 'no big deal' as Jeremy & Joshua say. :-) YES IT IS A BIG DEAL!! I don't like mice!!
OK - enough rambling. :-) I just had to get that out. They just gleefully left to go to Walmart to get more mouse traps. (we have 3 already) but they insisted we need more. I volunteered to go but they wanted me to stay here with the mice instead! No, I'm just joking. :-) They both are some of my faithful readers so I have to give them something to comment about! Oh yeah - I'm still rambling...so here are some pics from last night. I was bored so I was having a great time taking pics of the kids. As you can tell, Korey was not impressed. Kylie kept trying to push him away from her, but I resuced him every time! Jonathan worked until 10:15 and had to be back at work this morning at 4:45AM! But thankfully he got home around 6AM, instead of the 10 or 11 like he was scheduled for.
OH, I almost forgot - I stepped in a small fire ant (by small I mean the small ants, not the size of the nest) nest! With sandals on!!! Lets just say I did a little dance and got those shoes off very fast! I jumped in the truck and just sat there. :-) Jonathan had to get out & get all the ants off my shoes! Just not my day with animals! :-) I think I better go to bed soon before something else happens! But, alas, I can't. My sheets are in the dryer! :-)
Kylie is turning into quite the chatter box. She's learning new words/phrases every day. I can't keep up with all of them. Here are just a few...(not all plain but you can understand what she means)
  • Coke (for all drinks - a true southern girl!)
  • no, bad dog
  • good girl
  • no, bad (to Korey when hes crying)
  • thank you (everytime she hands YOU something, or if you give her something)
  • No, me talk (first time today when I wouldn't let her talk to my mom anymore on the phone.)
  • SHOES (she loves shoes! -- More in another post about this!)
  • Car
  • Teeth (she loves to brush her teeth!)
She's also learning to sing 'Deep & Wide' and 'This little light of mine'. Both are very cute.
No, for real. We had another good day together as a family. I was getting a little frustrated with Jonathan working so many hours but the I started thinking about all the times we do get to spend together. (every day he's off he spends it with us) and I'm thankful for that. Thank you sweetheart!
Good night, all!

Random news & pictures from the week!

There has been no exciting events in the lives of the Springers this week! Jonathan was off yesterday & we finally got a day to relax! No one was in a hurry for anything! It was a nice day. We slept it (the first in about 2 weeks!!) and then ate lunch, and then did a bunch of errands in town. I went to pick up Korey's 2 month pictures from Olan Mills (my free package) and they weren't in yet. I also got a ton of good buys are Target. I'll be adding a link that lets you print Internet coupons. If you have manufactures coupons, you can combine the two for greater savings! BTW, Target usually has the best sales on baby diapers! A few weeks ago, I was able to get Pampers & Huggies brands for just a few cents more than the WalMart brand. We also took my tourist papers back to Progresso. It was probably my quickest trip in & out of Mexico! If we were in the country 20 minutes, and the waiting on the bridge. :-) We also asked the border patrol guard what the new laws were for the passports. (I've heard a lot of different things lately, and wanted to know for sure.) He told us ALL U.S. citizens going to another country & wanting to come back to the US must have a passport! We had heard that we didn't need them for the babies, but they are US citizens so they need them too! PS - I also found this great program that will make your photos smaller & thus much faster to upload! They quality is not as good. So, my family that was printing pics off this blog - wait for the CD I'll be sending you! :-)Cuddlin' with pooh!Me with my two partners in crime!Kylie & Daddy eating McDonalds french fries at the motel in Mexico. She thought the box was cool & kept helping herself!Korey

Prayer needed

Friends,
Please keep Jonathan's family in your prayers. His grandpa Springer is very low right now. Lynn called me today so that we'd know. They are not really expecting him to live though the weekend. Also his grandma Mooney (his mom's mom) is not doing real well right now either.

Thanks ~ I'll post later if I know more information.

Mexico Trip

Catholic Church in Cd. Victoria Here are the details everyone's been waiting for! First, let me say, that the weekend did not go as I planned and God taught me a valuable lesson about letting Him have control of my life! :-) The town we planned to look at, we didn't even go to! But let me start from the beginning. :-) We got over the border fine around 4:30, a lot earlier than we planned. Jonathan was able to get off work a few hours early due to his tremendous amount of overtime lately. :-) We arrived in Cd. Victoria around 8PM or so & found a wonderful hotel for $46 a night!! :-) It was probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in, except where we stayed for our honeymoon. The bed was huge! :-) And the towels & pillowcases were embroidered with the hotel name and logo. Kylie was able to make friends with all the employees there. Her & I took a walk one day around the motel and she was talking to the workers. She would say "Hi" a bunch of times. And they would talk back to her. Then when we were walking away, she kept saying 'bye!"

Our motel room ~ we had our own garage too :-)We planned to go to Nuevo Padilla in the morning, but decided to go visit the pastor of the church & his family first. While there, we were severed a great breakfast of pancakes! :-) And also got to talking to them about another place, that we 'fell in love with' the first time we went though it. Its up the mountain about 30 minutes outside of the city.

The entrance to the town of JaumaveThe town of Jaumave. Its a decent size town with several villages about 10-15 minutes away. We found about 4 churches in the town already, but one is the Catholic church & another is a Jehovah's Witness. Bro. Domingo told us that he had gone to some of the villages a while ago and passed out tracks and talked with some of the people. They were very receptive to his being there & loved the tracts. As far as he knew there was not any churches in the villages. Our plan now is to go back next month (as long as we have the money) and visit the villages and talk to the people there. We ran out of time on Saturday to do anything else but drive though Jaumave. We were on the Mexican time schedule! Sunday we attended church in Cd. Victoria. Bro. Domingo bought us a good message about the foundations of the family. Sis. Gabi made us a wonderful lunch of Fried Chicken, Rice & Salad. We felt truly welcome in their home. Over all it was a good, relaxing weekend. Bro. Domingo & Sis. GabiTheir daughter, Elli (holding Kylie) and their other daughter & her new husband (playing with Korey) They also have another son, but he didn't want his picture taken!

Exploring Trip

Hi friends,
Emotions are running on high today as we get ready to make an exploratory trip into Mexico this weekend. We've waited for years for this & it seems 'the time' might be finally here! The Devil is not liking this I'm sure, so please pray extra for us this weekend. Here are a few specific requests:
1. For our safety. Traveling in Mexico can be very interesting at times. (Aunt: DON'T WORRY! smiles!)
2. That we come in contact with the "right" people.
3. That we find a house easily & cheap.
4. If this is the wrong place for us - that God would close the door & give us peace that its His will.
Thanks for praying!!
