Corpus Christi, Texas

We were able to get a weekend away this week too! It was so refreshing and as we were coming home, I said to Jonathan that it felt like we were gone a LONG time, when it was really only about 36 hours! Thanks to a post on http://www.moneysavingmom.com/, I joined http://www.hotelclub.com/ and recieved a $30 credit towards a motel stay. We found a good motel for less than half the cost it normally would be and went to Corpus Christi, about 2 1/2 hours away. We left Saturday morning, we were hoping to get going a few hours earlier than we did but after getting home late the night before from the corn maze and having laundry to do, due to the mud, it was about 9:45 when we finally left Weslaco. (we left the house a little earlier but had a few things to do in town before we could be on our way.) We met our friend Jennie and her son, James and went to the Museum of Science and History . It was fun. While there we were able to get on a replica of one of Columbus's ships. This museum has two of them. Mike, Jennie, James, Kylie & Jonathan ~ I didn't realize it til later but I missed Korey in the picture, he was in the high chair on the right by Jennie. She made us a wonderful Sunday dinner ~ almost like being at home in PA: Roast, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy & Green beans! Thanks guys - we had a very fun & relaxing weekend! Our breakfast waffles at the motel!

James & Kamryn (James is 2 months older than her and they had a blast together!)The new queen & king of Spain! =)Kylie as Diego, the cabin boy

Guess this catches me up on bloging! =) Becka comes tonight for Thanksgiving break and we are SO excited! Everytime Kylie has heard the dogs barking yesterday and today, she'll ask: "Becka here?" Today a neighbour knocked on the door and she was jumping with excitment saying "Becka HERE!" (not a question that time!) But I had to tell her, no not yet. They are sleeping so I need to finish up the house quick and start some food for supper and later when we get back from the airport!

Corn Maze

Friday night we went with our church family to the Donna Corn Maze. It was a wonderfully fun night and very COLD!!! For more pictures visit Esther's blog.
Kamryn had the best seat of all! =) She was snug & warm in her car seat/stroller with lots of layers and blankets!

They had a box full of corn, (like a sandbox) for the kids to play in. They had a wonderful time, and I'm still finding corn in my house! It came out of their pockets, shoes, & diapers! =)

Kylie's splint comes off!!!

I can't believe its been a week since I updated this blog! ~ I guess time flies when your having fun, er - working! =) No, we've had a really fun few weeks here! Last Weds night we took Kylie back to the dr so they could re-xray her arm and see if we could take off the splint. He said it was fine, but watch her for a few weeks and come back in a month. So, we all signed it, then Jonathan cut it off. She still is a lefty but maybe with time she'll change herself back. We didn't get the thumb sucking cured (she sucks the left one now too), but oh well. Korey 'signing' her cast

Look at all those names! =)

one last picture with it on.

WOW - look at my arm! =)

More of Korey's new words!

He's just talkin' away these days! I figured he'd start catching on pretty quick once he started. He's just done that with everything.

  • MU-MEE!!!!! (mommy)
  • shoe
  • eat
  • uk (duck)
  • this
  • baby (refering to Kamryn)

I think that's all but there's new ones almost every day now!

We're headed for a VERY busy next few days here:

  • Weds - a friend & her kids are coming for lunch & we are taking Kylie to see if we can take the splint off (Thursday will be 4 weeks)
  • Thursday is our 4th anniversary and we are planning dinner at South Padre Island
  • Friday evening is our Church get together at the Corn Maze
  • Saturday we are going to visit our friends Mike, Jennie, & James in Corpus

The next week Becka is coming to spend Thanksgiving with us. In December we are looking forward to a few trips to Mexico. So, life is busy here but we are looking forward to it!!! I will try and get some more pictures on here in the next few days though. I have several that I want to post.

Growing up!

Its been awhile since I've taken the time to update my family on the kids. =) So, here it is:

Kylie:
She's doing so many more things to become independent lately. She's really started to talk in sentences and her vocabulary is out of this world! She repeats just about everything she hears. The other day we meet a man who was not using the nicest of words for small ears to hear and I was praying that she wouldn't start saying those!! So far, I've not heard any! She's the greatest big sister a kid could want, she is so caring toward Korey (most of the time, unless they are fighting about something) and Kamryn. She's the little mother hen.

Helping with the trash

Making herself a PB&J sandwich

Korey:
He's growing up too! He has the sweetest personality ever! (Don't know where he gets that from, but we're glad he has it!) He's happy pretty much anywhere! I know God has something special for him to do with that personality. (maybe teach his mom a lesson or two??) He's also learning to talk!!! His new words are: baby,da-y, cookie, crak-a(cracker),ik(milk) and byebye. I'm sure there are a few more but I'm forgetting them right now!

Just chillin'

Thank you, mommy for my drink!

Kamryn:

What can I say about Kamryn? She's becoming a very sweet little girl too. I think I'm seeing a mixture of the other two in her personality. She's starting to coo more and 'talk'. She gets very excited when someone is paying attention to her! (Especially her daddy!) She is rolling from her back to her stomach now. And also she is starting move around. I found a bumbo seat on Ebay for a good price and she loves it! I was hoping she would since she likes to be sitting up and knowing what's going on! (Another nosey baby, Aunt Cleo!) I started trying a new formula for her and it seems to be working very well. She's been a much happier baby since then. She still spits up some but isn't quite as fussy.

Let me invite you to take a peek into our church. We attend the God's Missionary Church here in Donna, Texas. It is a mission church and our services are a mix of Spanish & English. (Mostly depending on who is attending that service). Sunday nights Sis. Esther has a story for the children and then we have a Bible Study. Right now we are studying the Book of Ruth.Korey sat with Jared tonightKylie sat with us tonightKamryn & JoshuaJonathan leading the singingKylie singing her heart out (except she's holding a Spanish Bible) =)

I'm finally able to sit down now and start back on my Spanish studies. Please pray for me that I can keep focused and get it done! I started on PACE 4 last week, its getting a little harder than the first couple ones that were basically review, but this starts some new material! I've been having Kylie sit and watch the lessons on the DVD with me, and she's been picking up a few words here and there too, so maybe it'll be a race to see who learns it first!! =)

As we watched the election results unfold, God reminded me of a Song: Right on Time by the McKammey's...as I was searching for the lyrics to post on here to encourage myself and everyone out there that God is not finished with America. But I found this song instead and it really encouraged me so I thought I'd share it with you instead. Don't give up praying now! We all needs God's help & Grace now more than ever.

God on the Moutain

Life is easy, when your up on the mountain
And you've got peace of mind
Like you've never known
But then things change and your down in the valley
Don't lose hope for your never alone

For the God on the mountain
is still God in the valley
When things go wrong
He'll make them right
And the God of the good times, is still God of the bad times
And the God of the day is still God of the night

You talk of faith when your up on the mountain
Oh, but the talk comes so easy
When life's at its best
But its down in the valley of trials and temptations
That's where faith is really put to the test

A fun day with Joe

The last few days we were in PA, Jonathan's brother, Joe came to visit. We had a fun day Friday, we went to 'walk the creek' (its a fun thing we try to do when we are in PA) and to eat at Rey Azteca, later that night we went to visit with the owners of Rey Azteca. Me at the waterfalls (yes, I climbed up there!)
