All our company is gone

Well, all our company is gone. :-( It was fun to have family here for almost 3 weeks now! Becka, my sister was here for almost 2, & Jonathan's brother Joseph was here this week. He just left a few minutes ago & already the house is too quite!! He'll be traveling today & tomorrow back to NC, so help us pray that God keeps him safe on the highways! Jonathan was able to come home for lunch today so he could see Joseph off. In a way I'm looking forward to catching up on somethings before my parents get here in about 12 days. I need to do some sewing, I need to make some curtains for our bedroom & some sheets for the kids pack n' plays. I have only 1 for each of them, and I was making some to put on ebay. I found out if I can keep Kylie awake all morning, she'll take a 2-3 hour nap for me in the afternoon. After Jonathan gets home tonight & the kids are in bed, I need to make a trip to Wal-Mart. He took the 4Runner today & the car seats are in there, and we forgot to take them out. And I'm not ready to take a shopping trip alone w/ both of them yet! :-) Well, the picture just finished uploading so I think I'm gonna start my quite afternoon off with a nap!!

Kylie & Korey

Here are a few pictures from this week. Again, its been busy, but nothing exciting going on! The most exciting thing probably was that Korey slept 5 hours last night!!! And we went to the Island on Tuesday. Kylie had lots of fun. Her & uncle Joe were 'jumpin' the waves. And she was walking in the surf & played in the sand. She was very hard to get clean but it was fun. Korey beat Kylie's record of getting to the beach! He made it in 7 days, instead of her 10 days. I didn't put him in though, he was sleeping & I didn't feel like having two kids to clean up. His turn will come soon enough! Oh, yesterday we had doctor's appointments for both of them. Kylie's was her year old check up & Korey's was a newborn check up with the pediatrician. They both did good. Kylie got 3 shots, a TB skin test, & they drew blood to check her iron & for lead poisoning. Today I finally had time to dress Korey up in his new outfit from Grandma Lynn. She sent them a box of clothes this week. :-) Kylie got 2 dresses for her birthday & Korey got several outfits. Our neighbor is making us supper tonight, which is very nice!! Joseph leaves tomorrow & then we are without company until July 10th when my parents come for a week! Then we'll really be bored!! :-) Hope every one's week is going good! Korey - 9 days old

Update from the past week

Hi. I finally found a few minutes to finish updating this. :-) I was in a hurry Saturday when I put the pictures on, so I didn't write alot...but since I still don't think I can upload pictures from here, I'll just write & upload pics whenever I am able. If this is rambling -- its becuase I'm majorly sleep deprived! :-) Korey is nothing like Kylie. She slept about 4 hours at a time during the night. Not Korey -- last night it was every 2 & the night before every hour! And our days have been full!! Wednesday of last week we just chilled & then I don't remember what happened on Thursday, but Friday was full. :-) The nurse & midwife came to do our 3 day home visit & after they left Becka, Joshua & Jared went to Progreso Market. Then later that evening we had Kylie's birthday party. It was lots of fun. She cried when we sang Happy Birthday to her! I'm not sure why - but I don't think we ever finished the song because we were laughing so much! She also had fun feeding us cake & then we showed her how to feed herself & she like that too. We have to have another party in a few weeks when my parents are here!! Saturday we were supposed to take Becka to the beach, but it rained so we couldn't go. Its not like she's never been to the beach before but she likes ours better than the one at Hobe Sound. That's why we went to the South Texas History Museum. After we were done there we dropped her & the kids off at the house & Jonathan & I went out for a real date! It was so nice to spend a few hours together. We ate supper at Jason's Deli, updated the blog & then went to the thrift store because I didn't have any Sunday clothes that fit, and then to walmart to get groceries. Sunday, was also very busy, like always - just went to church, ate dinner, took a small nap & then back to church. Today, we got some house work done in the morning & then we back to the thrift store this afternoon. I was able to find 2 skirts & 3 shirts for me & several things for Korey. Every week they have a different color tag that's 50% off!! When we got home Joseph, Jonathan's brother, was already here. He came to pick up the truck he bought from us, and will be staying until Friday of this week. It's so great to see family!!! I'm gonna sign off for now & try to get some sleep!

Pictures

Here are just a few pictures from the week. I have a great husband. :-) I was unable to upload pics at home for some reason so when we came on our date tonight we brought the laptop to Jason's Deli & are sitting here in the parking lot updating the blog!!! Today we visited the South Texas Museum of History. It was fun & hands on!! Becka all dressed up as a Spaniard Checking out her cake
After Jonathan dipped her face in it!! (She liked it!)

Happy Birthday, Kylie!

Today Kylie turned 1 year old!! It was not the greatest day at our house to have a birthday! Thankfully, she's too little to know the difference & care. The only presents she got today was cards in the mail & a card from my parents & Becka. Some of them had $1.00's in them & she was thrilled with that. We are going to try to celebrate it this weekend or I may wait until Monday when Joseph is here too. Wal-Mart didn't have what we were going to get her, so we'll have to wait that for another time too.

She's adjusting to Korey a little more. When she sees him now, she goes to touch him, and she'll say 'baby'. She looked at him today when I was holding him & said, 'bye bye'. She doesn't like it when he cries though. She's get all out of sorts. Becka stayed with them while Jonathan & I ran to Wal-Mart to get a few things we needed & a birthday present for Kylie, and she said Korey was really crying & Kylie was upset.

...and HIS name is...

Korey Matthew Springer

June 19,2007 7:35AM

7 lbs. 1 1/2 oz. ** 20 inches long
Korey finally decided to show up!!! We are so excited...(mostly that its all over!!) We had a great birth experience at Holy Family Birth Center in Weslaco. It took a little longer than Kylie (I was induced w/ her) but it was so much more relaxing! We also were able to have my long awaited water birth! You can visit their website (the link is on the left) to see more about the clinic. We went in about 11PM Monday & he was born at 7:35 AM Tuesday, but I started having contractions on Sunday at 3AM! So it was a long few days. :-) Becka brought Kylie over to see us around lunch. She wasn't sure at first what to do - she wanted to touch him, but then looked like she was afraid. We were able to come home last night & got here around 9pm. I'm feeling great! :-) Today is also Kylie's birthday (the 20th) so I'll be adding some pics later of her special day!

Katie was the nurse though the night, but she wasn't there for the pictures -- hopefully she was sleeping!! - Thanks everyone -- you are all the greatest!!

Jonathan, Kylie & Korey

(Kylie was starting to want to touch him last night & kept calling him baby!) Jonathan looks a little drugged in this picture -- he had 3 hours of sleep since Monday morning...(that's why there are not pics of me!! I had about the same)

Kylie's 1st birthday pictures

They took about 1o different poses but these were the only ones that I really thought were cute. Enjoy!!!

Becka is finally here!

Hi! Becka always has adventures - but she is here after another great one. I'm sure she'll be blogging about it in the next few days so check her blog! (the link is to the left). She can tell it all better than I can! :-) But we picked her up last night around 8:30PM (about 4 hours late!) Her & Kylie have been having a good time getting to know each other again. Its only been since April that they saw each other. We had a good day shopping. I decided today was the day! I wanted to get out as much as possible. :-) I was also hoping all the walking would help someone want to come but so far it hasn't. ;-( This weekend would be a great time for it to arrive! :-) We went to Kohl's & Old Navy first & then to Cici's pizza for lunch, after that we went to Sears to get Kylie's 1st birthday pictures taken. Her birthday is not until Wedsday the 20th but I wanted to get these done before the baby came. I'm glad that's over! I won't be getting them done every month anymore. :-) She didn't do as good this time because she was REALLY tired! She had gotten up this morning about 8AM and never took a nap all day! She also walked from Kohl's to Old Navy (if you are from around here, you'll know what I mean). It wasn't just 'right next door'. There are a few stores in between. She wanted down to walk & I didn't want to carry her - so she walked! It was about 3pm until we got her pictures done, & she just wanted to sit & suck her thumb. She would smile a little grin but keep her thumb in there. It was kinda funny. The photographer was having her stand for a few of them & Kylie would just start walking toward her. The one time, she just started walking & talking. It was really cute! I don't think the photographer thought it was too cute right then, but she kept a good attitude! Well, that's about it. I'm going to bed! :-)

No baby yet :-(

Hi y'all,

I can't believe its been a whole week since I posted. But I've had a little more energy this week so I used it to get stuff done instead of spending so much time online.
We didn't get to go to the Island last week because it was super windy & the seas were 5-7 feet! I wasn't feeling real good anyway & wasn't planning to go. But I rested during the day & then we all went to play miniature golf at 'The Zone' Thursday night after it got cooler. I was glad I went. It was fun! I forgot to take the camera so no pictures! Then Friday we did get to go to the birthday part for our friends little boy. Kylie had lots of fun with the kids there. There was only 5 kids but all under 3 years old! They were 3,2, 1(Kylie) & two infants. Again, I forgot the camera, so no pictures!
She is walking a lot better the past few days too. :-) The other night Jonathan was on the couch & was getting her to walk to me across the room - she would & the she would crawl back to him. We tried to get her to walk to him, but she wouldn't. She slept good that night anyway!
As you can see by the title, NO BABY YET! I'm starting to get very impatient. I could complain for a few paragraphs but I'll spare you the agony! Becka will arrive tomorrow at 4:11 in McAllen so we're excited about her coming. Hopefully we get to do some fun stuff while she's here. I want to go to the zoo for Kylie's birthday next week if someone else arrives in time. :-) I have tons of shopping I want to do that I don't have the energy to do with taking Kylie by myself. This family is lucky to have groceries these past few weeks. ;-) And maybe we'll get to squeeze in a date with my husband since I'll have a live-in babysitter for almost 2 weeks! (The time at the clinic doesn't count for a date!)
Anyway - be sure to check back, we'll post a picture of the little person as soon as we can!!

Just "normal" days

Hi! We've just been having 'normal' days this week. (whatever normal is!) Nothing too eventful to write about, that's why I havn't. I'm sure most of you think the baby was born! :-) I wish it was too, but now I'm just trying to think that it won't come for 2 more weeks. We're planning a trip to the Island tomorrow, since Jeremy is leaving Sunday for 4 weeks of training with ROTC. That should be fun! Jonathan is sure the baby is gonna come & ruin our plans. :-) Then Friday evening is our neighbor boy's 2nd birthday party. So, I'll have something to post about & share some pictures! :-) I put insurance on the Ford truck today so I can get the hang of driving it before my sister comes a week from tomorrow. There is no way the two kids, her & I would all fit in the S-10. And I havn't been about the learn the drive the 4-Runner yet b/c its too hard to reach the clutch with the baby in the way! Other than all that - we've just been hanging out & spending evenings outside when its cooler. Kylie's getting better at walking. She's still not going solo yet, but she does really good when holding just 1 hand. She's growing so fast too!! It seems every time I do laundry I'm packing something away. Her main word is still 'baby'. We're working with her to say 'puppy'. She has a favorite puppy that is in the car with her, & she calls it 'baby'. A few times lately she's said puppy. :-)

Fun evening with friends

Last evening, Kylie's 3 "Texas uncles" came to see us! We had ice cream & just lots of good relaxing fun!!! Joshua just got home Thursday from GBS for the summer & he & Kylie needed to get to know each other again. Uncle Jeremy is still her favorite but Joshua is working on winning her over. :-) And of course Jared is the best because he just gets down & plays with her!! Kylie & her three 'Texas uncles'!

Another answer to prayer!!

WOW! We've been reaping God's showers of blessings the past few weeks!! For a long time we've been praying for a truck,(specifically a Ford F250 Diesel) & a few weeks ago God sent us the 4-Runner. We were thrilled with that. And accepted that as an answer that the truck should wait! But last week a friend called us & said they just bought a 99 Ford F250 Diesel cab & a half at an auction & he wanted to know if we wanted to buy it from him. Well, we told him we'd have to think & pray about it but we were interested in seeing it. (He was in Colorado & was coming to Texas this week.) Thursday (2 days ago) they got here & we looked at it, liked it but didn't know what to do about the money. We had our S10 truck that needed sold & the loan paid off. By last night, we had the truck sold & the rest of the money arranged for!!! There are still a few little details that need worked out, but as it looks right now, we have the truck we wanted plus some extras!
