Our truck & trailer

God has been so good to us, even in spite of the many little things that have gone wrong on this trip, leaks in the trailer & a bad transmission in the truck! On this trip our truck turned over 300,000 miles! We are so thankful to God's protection over us and all His help! He's so good all the time!

The Sunday before we left Texas

The day before we left Texas was a fun but VERY busy day! I was so hungry for a big Sunday dinner and I had lots of food to use up, so we had David & Lynn over for dinner since they were visiting in the Valley and were planning to leave Monday AM like us to head back north!
Sunday evening after church we had a great time of fellowship with our church family! It was an enjoyable night, that held some great memories. To see more pictures, visit Crystal Mason's blog about it!

A visit with friends

While traveling from Missouri to North Carolina, we suddenly realized we'd be traveling very close to our friends Jeffery & Joy, who are stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. We were able to spend the night with them, and it was a short but very fun visit! Thanks guys for letting us drop in on such short notice! We had a rough morning and it was so refreshing to just be able to relax with friends!

Our week in North Carolina

After about 4 days on the road, we finally got to NC where we had our first service at Salisbury Bible Methodist Church Sunday morning. Sunday evening we went to Graham Bible Methodist church, but I forgot to take any pictures there. Jonathan's grandma Springer attends this church and she had us over for Sunday dinner! The children enjoyed seeing her again. (I'm sure they don't remember meeting her about a year and a half ago.)Monday evening we went to Jonathan's mom's house for supper, her mom, Grandma Mooney was there too and made a great chicken pie!

We also enjoyed staying at the CCA camp ground! It was a great place for the kids to get outside and be able to play. They loved watching the school kids play ball! Thursday morning, Jonathan spoke in chapel and then we were privledged to hear the Hobe Sound Bible College choir that evening.

A big thanks to my mother-in-law & Sarah for all their help in cleaning and unpacking our trailer! Also, thanks to Grandma & David for the new toys for the kids!

Easter Sunday with family

I know its been WEEKS since I had a chance to upload pictures, so today is 'catch up' day! We are in Ohio, where Jonathan & a good friend are going to put in our new transmission! We are hoping to at least get to IHC in Dayton tomorrow!

Easter weekend was so fun! Sunday morning we attended church with my parents and a bunch of my cousins were there so we got a group picture after church! Then, about 32 people from my mom's side of the family came for dinner to our house! So, we had to take more group pictures! It was so fun to spend time with all my family!

Please help us pray

Well, yesterday was another interesting day of travel for our family! We left NC around 6:30 and was doing great making time on our way to PA to be with my family for Easter. We were an hour south of Johnstown when we noticed the transmission temperatures were a little too high (210 degrees). (We were also climbing a lot of mountains) so we stopped for a while to let it cool off, then started again. We were almost to the top of a long hill and Jonathan noticed a big cloud of white smoke, so he just shut the truck down (in the middle of the road, we were in the country and there wasn't anywhere to pull over, especially with the 5th wheel on the back). A man stopped and pulled us the rest of the way up the hill and into an abandoned parking lot. Jonathan went back to the 'town' to get some transmission fluid with another guy that stopped to help. It was a whole new trusting experience for me! My sister in law Sarah was with us too, since we were planning to go to IHC in Dayton, Ohio next week and she was on Spring Break. Her, the kids, & I were sitting in the truck alone. Thankfully we were in the country in southern PA where most people are decent and friendly! Anyway, to make a long story short we were able to baby it to Johnstown after he added several quarts of fluid. We don't have reverse or 1st gear, but drive works! =) We're not understanding why this happened. But doing our best to trust God to take care of it all! It's a great test of our faith & trust in God! Basically, we are here no truck, and not sure what to do! So, if you happen to think of this discouraged family, please pray for us! If we were in Texas, this would be 'easy', just drive our 4runner, work more hours, and fix it, but our life is different now and its a challenge!

After that happened though, a lot of people were praying for us and as we kept climbing mountains to get to Johstown, the temps kept dropping instead of getting hotter! That was a big mystery to us, but we knew God was doing that!! He's able to take care of the rest of it too!

Update

I don't have a way to upload any pictures right now, but I just wanted to let everyone know we made it safely to North Carolina and had God's help in our first 2 services yesterday! We are looking forward to Easter weekend being with my family in PA! We had some adventures last week, and are so thankful we know that we are in the center of God's will, otherwise, I think we'd have been tempted to turn around & go back home! God is so good to us though and after having our family & some friends on Facebook pray for us we had a better trip!

I'll try to get the pictures on this computer so I can put some on in the next few days!
