We are back in Texas...

where its warm (not -- still cold!) Not as cold as PA but still chilly. But oh well. I just wanted to update this real quick & let you know I'm still around & surviving life. :-) I have a ton of pictures to share but I've just not had time yet. We had a good but VERY TIRING trip back on Wednesday. Our plane was late coming in, so we didn't leave BWI until 4PM and it was a 4 hour flight! Both kids were sick by this time (Korey was doing a lot better but still coughing some. We never did have to take him to the Drs or anything.) Kylie was starting to cough & have a cold. So she had some trouble as we were descending. When we got to SAT, it was like 8:45PM til we left the city, and another 4 hour drive home. We got to the house around 1AM and fell in bed. :-) Jonathan had to be at work at 8 the next day so he didn't get much sleep, he worked til 8 or so that night and then had to work at 5AM on Friday. It was a wild week, but we survived!!!!
I'll try & get those pictures on here today or tomorrow! :-) Have a great Sunday!

Korey

Please pray for Korey. He's been sick with bad chest congestion since we got here on Tuesday. We started him on Albuterol breathing treatments & Mucinex on Wednesday and he seems some better but not good enough. We decided that if he's not A LOT better by tonight we were going to have to do something different. Also pray we make the right decision. I really don't want to go to the ER & have them tell us to do the same stuff we are already doing. He needs to be cleared up by Weds the 26th when we fly.

Also, please help us pray for Jonathan's one bosses son. We've heard different reports so I don't want to say til I know for sure, but he has some very serious physical needs and may not have long to live. Help us pray that God can work in this situation for the good & see this family come to Him!

Other than all that, we are having a good time here. Its way too cold. :-) We decided that we are not coming up for Christmas anymore, the family has to come where its warm!! :-) We had a great time at the Fetzer Christmas party last night. Its been 2 years since we were here for Christmas, so some of my cousins kids I hardly recongized. :-) No one took any pictures, which was crazy but I guess we were having too much fun. :-) The food was great! :-) Thanks Uncle Ernie & Aunt Nancy, it was a very enjoyable time!

Guinness World Records Museum

Think this would catch all my mice??? LOL

Kylie is taller than the shortest woman

Jonathan is smaller than the largest man - :-)
and I thought my husband was tall...LOL

The Alamo

Check Spelling These are some pictures of the Alamo & stuff around it. This is one of my favorite parts of history. Especially after you've been there. :-) We couldn't go in it because it was closing in a few minutes, but we had been there before so it wasn't a huge disappointment. The Christmas tree is a live one!!

San Antonio

On Monday we drove up to San Antonio where we flew out of on Tuesday. We had a fun day enjoying the city! We ate Mexican on the Riverwalk. Kylie has totally fallen in love with chips & salsa! :-) She even had to dip her own!

New puppy & other new things (again)

We got a new puppy last week! Friends of ours had found him as a stray & told me about it. Jonathan's been wanting a black lab for a long time and this was the perfect price ~ free. Well, not totally when you figure food, shots, new doghouse....) His name is Cody. He was already named when we got him, but we thought that he fit right in our family. Our other dog is Copper (female). So now we have kids names that start with "K", and dogs names that start with "C". LOL! That was really not planned but it fits right!? I wanted to put some pictures on here of him but its cold & rainy outside so I don't think I'm going out there to take them, plus they wouldn't look very nice. Just picture a cute black lab puppy! :-)

So, we now have 3 males & 3 females in our house/property (the dogs are outside!!) UNTIL, the tie-breaker comes in the July...

Don't totally have heart attacks on me here, but GOD is GIVING us another little person that's due July 11! I'm sure some people think we are totally crazy. (We do too, sometimes!) We were all outside the other day looking at Cody...and I said to Jonathan, we are totally crazy, 3 kids & 2 dogs! But its a fun life, never boring! Its all worth all the work when I hear Kylie praying or singing & being nice to Korey, and him responding positively back to her! They both have been great the past few days for me & I know God is helping us all! :-) I could never do all this with out my wonderful husband, too. He works some long hours to provide for us & I truly appreciate that. And I know he loves us all very much! When he comes home most nights he takes me shopping, (if I need to go) & also helps me get the kids to bed so we have some time to relax, or just fall into bed sooner! (I think last night we were all in bed before 9PM, which is very rare for this family!)

We wanted to tell all our family & friends at the same time so this is the best way! :-) I knew I couldn't hide it while I was in PA, since I've been sick some again. Not like with the other two though, so Becka, don't stress, we'll still EAT & EAT & EAT!!! :-)

More of Kylie's new words:
  • love you (its not real plain but you can tell what she's saying, and she goes out of the room saying, Bye...love you!)
  • more (mostly associated with food)
  • "HI buuuy" (hi buddy - to Korey)
  • OK (mostly when you tell her something)
  • manga (I think this might mean grandma, she says it when she wants to talk on the phone)

Again, that's all I can remember...she's just starting to repeat LOTS of stuff...I was 'reading' her a book this morning that showed a picture of a king and I said see there's the king, and she said king.

I have some other cute pictures of her eating Oreos cookies but they'll have to wait for another day too. I have a friend & her kids coming at 1:00PM today to make some homemade Ice cream! I have been dying to use my ice creaming maker I got at the Thrift store for $10! (Its brand new in the box!) So we are making Cookies & Cream! There's a picture of it on the box & it looks SOOOO good!!! I'll take some pictures to show you!! :-) I'm also gonna try & get some candy made for the guys Jonathan works with & finish my Christmas cards & pack us all to go to PA this weekend. The cards might have to wait til I get up there, since I'm feeling like I'm running out of time!!

Korey is also getting his 2ND tooth. The first one is still not though enough for a picture, but when it is, I'll post it!!! He hasn't been quit as fussy & sick as he was the first time, so I'm very thankful for that!! :-)

I really need to go!! I just have a few hours to get things together here! The ice cream recipe I have needs to be cooked and refrigerated for an hour before you put it in the maker!

Have a great day!! :-)

New things ~

Hi everyone, its been a few days since I had time to update this. I wanted to let you know some of Kylie's new words, before they are not new anymore or I forget. And also give you the latest on Korey.

Kylie's new words:
  • doggie
  • kitty
  • meow
  • cookie
  • monkey (it comes out more like mongee!)

That's all I can remember for now. It seems like there should be more.

Korey is now rolling over pretty good. He's starting to show some interest in toys. The biggest news ~ He got his first tooth this week!!!! That's why he was so sick. Kylie was never sick with teeth, so I'm hoping every tooth is not like that! He was sick for about 4 or 5 days. I ended up not taking him to the Dr, because the day I was going to, he started feeling better by the time Jonathan came home to watch Kylie.

Sorry there are not any pictures this time. I gotta get this week started! We are leaving for PA next week for Christmas! It was a last minute decision & we were able to get good prices on tickets. We have to drive to San Antonio, but its worth the drive for the money we are saving. We are looking forward to seeing all the family there. My cousins are gonna be getting a new baby right before we get there or during our stay, so that's very fun! And we can't forget the big Fetzer Christmas party & the Christmas Eve service. Just fun traditions that we did when we were there, that we miss! I have some more stuff to put on here ~ hopefully I'll get to it this week. :-)

Christmas Family Pictures

We finally got to Sears yesterday to get our family pictures taken. What an adventure! I'm not ready to take Kylie there again for a LONG time! She was not impressed at all with this experience! Korey would not smile for anything. They both have colds so I'm sure that complicated the problem some but I was so glad to get out of there. All they wanted to do was suck their thumbs. :-) And you can see in the one picture we just let them. :-) Its sorta a trademark now. :-) At least we got a few so-so ones, and I wasn't tempted to spend lots of money! :-) So I guess a few good things came out of it! :-) Jonathan is as thrilled as the kids I'm sure this is over for another year! :-) Thanks for going sweetheart, even though its not your favorite thing to do!!

Kids Christmas pictures

I tried taking these last week, and Kylie was not cooperating with me, so today I asked Jonathan to help me. Well, we started with Korey, and as I sat him in the chair, Kylie got a piece of paper and start waving it in his face!! She has been to Sears to get pictures taken too many times!! LOL! If you've never been there or yours doesn't do it this way, at the one here they take a piece of cardboard & wave it in the kids faces to make them laugh! Korey didn't smile like he can, but he's been sick today, so I guess he has an excuse! :-) He had a fever & was real fussy. He only ate 3 bottles all day so far & slept most of the day until about 5 tonight. We had another busy week this past week, which I'll have to blog about later!
