I'll try to remember all the details of our weekend in Mexico, but I'm sure I won't. =) Jonathan got off work around 4PM and we left our house to run a few last minute errands and go to Progreso bridge about 7:30PM, only to get to the immigration office to find out the car permit department was closed. =) So, we crossed back to the US, drove to Pharr, and got it all done there in Reynosa. We also got stopped by the Military there, so we all had to get out again, for them to inspect our truck. While we were filling up the truck with diesel there in Reynosa, 2 pickup truck loads of Federal Police pull in with there lights flashing! About 5 policemen piled out of each truck and surrounded the area with machine guns ready. I have to admit I was a little nervous. =) After about 10 minutes, with no activity, they left! Thankfully we had a uneventful rest of the trip to Cd. Victoria. We did see about 3 more Military/Federal Police check points on the way. They were mostly checking people heading north. We got to the motel around 1:30/2:00AM. Got unpacked and crashed into bed! Of course, since the kids had slept most of the way there, they were ready to be up playing, but we got them settled down and to sleep at least by 3!
Saturday, we slept in a little and just let the kids relax (I found that if I give Kylie some downtime, she does better with all the changes). Then we ate lunch and headed to the mountains and to visit
Jumave again!
Mountain Road
We found a few more villages that we didn't know were there. Jonathn was able to talk to some people and it looks like the one only has a catholic church. We are still just praying and waiting on God for direction. He knows exactly where HE wants us and when HE wants us there. We are clinging very hard to this knowledge right now and doing the best we can, where He has us now!
Privacy Fence, anyone?
On the road past these 2 villages we found this little river, it was a beautiful place and was so peaceful! We stopped and let the kids play in it for awhile. They had been so good bouncing though the mountain roads for about 2 or 3 hours. The water was so warm and it was hot! We didn't have any change of clothes or towels, so they played in their diapers and then the sun dried them in just a few minutes!
Playing in the River
Sunday morning on our way to church we saw an accident happen before our eyes! It was the
weirdest thing I think I've even seen. For once Jonathan & I both were speechless. We still
haven't totally figured out what happened but we were on the frontage road and this black SUV was on the main road, was hit by a Pontiac
sunfire, and just lost control, came sideways across the lane, hit a concrete barrier (about a foot off the
ground), blew a few tires (I remember seeing them pop!) and landing about 5 feet in front of us! I think I remember Jonathan stopping a little quickly! I'm not sure if he remembers that or not. It was like watching something happen in slow motion. Needless to say we were about 25 minutes late for church. Jonathan got out and was seeing if people were
ok and all that. The police and EMS people got there pretty quickly. I was impressed! Only 1 little girl was taken to the hospital.

Kylie & her new friends on Sunday in Cd. Victoria
Church was good, and we got there right before Bro. Domingo started preaching. Kylie went to Sunday School with the kids, but didn't last the whole time. =) Afterwards we enjoyed some wonderful food and good fellowship with the pastor and his family! We left there around 3PM to head back to the US, since Jonathan needed to be at work at 5AM today! No adventure on the way out thankfully!
The perfect ending to this trip was we were 'randomly selected' to get our truck searched by the US Border Patrol! =) (A first for us!)
Enjoy your Monday!! I'll be catching up on laundry and unpacking.
