This morning Jonathan had a little 'adventure' going to Corpus Christi. They were transporting a 8 year old pediatric patient with Spinal Bifita to have surgery up there. If you've ever been down here you know that part way up there is a US Border Patrol check point. Its nothing major, they just ask if you are a US Citizen. Well, when Jonathan stopped, they asked him, and he said "yes'. Then they ask if he had a passenger. He said yes, and his medic was back there too, and the patients mom. The agent asked to talk with them...the mother of the patient was not a legal resident. Thankfully, Jonathan nor his partner knew that. (They both said they would not have done the call if they knew.) And she said she didn't tell them on purpose. Anyway -- they had a Border Patrol escort part of the way after that to meet another agent that followed them clear to the hospital. They still made it on time for the little boy to have his surgery. My heart aches for this family. Personally, I don't think they would deport her since the boy is a US Citizen, but I don't know. I can't imagine going though all that right before my son had surgery. And then not knowing what was going to happen after that, and wondering if I would be able to continue to get the medical care for my child. I know its not right what she did, but please pray for her. I'm sure we'll never hear the 'end of the story'. I also want to thank God that they didn't try to give Jonathan & the other medic trouble or accuse them of smuggling. It could have turned out to be a lot of problems.
On another note, we want to thank the Lord for his help yesterday, we were able to get the insurance for our 5th Wheel and it was cheaper than what we thought it would be!
I must get this day started! I have lots of packing to do today & tomorrow! Monday morning will be here before I know it!
