Weds, Thurs, & Fri suppers

Wednesday got too crazy so I just hurried and made pizza with the cheap bread I got at HEB this week. It wasn't fancy but we all liked it! =)

Thursday we had beef tacos and green beans. Don't mind the picture, it sorta fell apart when I went to move it for a picture! =)

Tonight I was going to make a good supper but Jonathan had to work late didn't get home for supper (on his 29th birthday no less) so we'll just have that tomorrow. The kids & I ate grilled cheese sandwiches & yougert.

Our shopping trip

I forgot to take a picture of my first shopping trip this week to HEB. Korey was my buddy for this trip! I couldn't have ask for a better behaving little man! For once HEB had some good sales but I forgot my list and they were out of fliers and since it was the last day of the sale I missed a few good things.

My total here was $24.96

Gallon milk $3.64

Huggies wipes refill $4.99

flour tortillas .99

hamburger buns .99

small elbow macaroni (4) 1.00

5 lbs potatoes 1.99

2 lbs white seedless grapes 1.99

10 small oranges 1.00

shreaded lettuce 1.39

4 packages hotdogs 2.00

2 white bread 1.00

adobo seasonings 1.62

sazon y tomate 1.29

Then my target trip was really good!

1st transaction:

3 boxes Kashi cereal bars $2.25

2 ocean spray (free)

8 6oz cups yoplait yougert $1.72

I paid $3.95 for all that!

2nd transaction:

box of size 3 pampers on clearance $14.01 (80 count)

pampers wipes $.99

clean & go pampers wipes $1.49

3 boxes Kashi cereal bars $2.25

2 ocean spray (free)

I paid $19.92

It was just a little over the $40 I try to stick to, but I couldn't let those pampers stay there!! I'm trying to stock up on sizes I'll need while we are gone. The wipes were also on sale & with the coupons I had were very cheap! So, now we are stocked up on those for a few weeks anyway! The HEB trip, along with stuff I had in my cupboards will be enough to make our menu for the week. (which is almost over by the way...did your week go FAST?? Mine sure did!)

Puppies

If you've been around Korey very long, you know he's very much in love with ALL puppies! (puppies to him includes all dogs, sometimes even cats.) Our neighbours dog had a litter of golden retriever puppies and Jonathan brought one over for the kids to see the other night. I wish I'd have taken a picture of Kamryn's face. She looked at it and started crying! Last night we also played with a puppy. Poor thing, was pulled by the leg, picked up by little people and still was a great behaving puppy! We joked the owners could now advertise them totally kid tested!

Church in Mexico

A great Sunday School lesson by Bro. Eli

A few weeks ago we were priviledged to 'show' the Masons the way to the Bible Methodist Church in Rio Bravo, Tamp. Mexico. We got there 30 minutes early but it was a good thing since we'd taken a little 'scenic route'. In my husbands defense I must say that he hadn't been there in about 2 years so a few wrong turns was ok! =) We found it (we were in the right area the whole time) and enjoyed the service and fellowship with the people. My very shy son even found enough courage to hang out with some of the kids!

Tuesdays supper

The meal, I added sour cream to the top after I took this picture and also we had carrots for a veggie.
The beans cooking

Well, this meal didn't turn out quit how I had it planned, but I think I will make this again! I had the beans all cooked, the fried diced onions & peppers, added the beans with some seasonings and let it cook together. Then I put it in a bowl on the counter. The rice was cooking and in the mean time I thought I would feed Kamryn her supper...I took her food from the microwave and accidently knocked over the beans! There was just a little bit left, so that's why it doesn't look like very many on the plate! Oh well - after Jonathan told me he was so sorry for me because I worked so hard on them (You have to cook beans for hours so I spent most of the afternoon 'watching' them), I just laughed. I told him to remember that I really dislike beans, I was just being 'brave' and cheap! They did have a good flavor though so I'll be making this again so we can try it better!
